Cheryl A. Allen

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

DNP, FNP, PMHNP (she, her)

I began my career in healthcare over 40 years ago as a young nurse in the ICU. Over the years, I would return to school many times in the effort to stay current with the healthcare needs of my patients. This trajectory led me to become a Family Nurse Practitioner with a Clinical Doctorate from Medical University of South Carolina, with an additional certification as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I now focus on working with patients that have chronic pain.

Too many times, I've seen pain define a person and take over their life. It doesn't have to be this way. Research has shown that techniques such as CBT and talk therapy can be effective in addressing a range of mental health challenges often associated with chronic pain, including depression, anxiety, insomnia, and PTSD. At Clear Path Forward Counseling, I offer a safe place to discuss your pain journey. I can help you to find a way to move forward and get your life back.

I am committed to providing compassionate and patient-centered care. If you are interested in a more holistic approach to managing your chronic pain, please contact my office today.
